this was my fifth time dining at carmo. it took about five minutes for the server to bring water. There were only a couple other tables there. My boyfriend and I ordered the seared avocado, Brazilian cheese bread, vegan curry with tofu, and kottu, a roti dish. We ordered two large juices. They were mostly out of caja, and the server gave us all that was remaining for free. We ordered a small cup of another juice. my boyfriend thought the capucacu juice tasted fermented. after 45 minutes we still hadn't gotten our entrees yet despite the restaurant being mostly empty. we asked for them to be packaged to go because my boyfriend had to get to work. When they bill came, we saw that we were mistakenly charged for two large juices. We told the server who corrected the bill. when i got home to eat the entrees, I was disappointed to see the small portion of curry. There were only FIVE pieces of tofu. The $14 curry had an additional charge of $5 for the extra tofu. Each piece was no bigger than 1" x 1/2". Charging 35% more for that amount of tofu is crazy. $19 for the curry was ridiculous. The food is tasty but overpriced and take a long time to be ready. I can't imagine goes long they would take with a full house. The service is lacking. There are not enough servers and they take a long time with each interaction....
